The Lady Liberator softball team smashed through the competition this season. Led by coaches Brian Thompson, Nathan Rothdiener, and Sammy Jacobson the girls won districts and made it to quarterfinals against McDonald County High School. Bolivar softball has had a very successful run this year, with 21 wins and only 7 losses.

When asked about the accomplishments of his team, Coach Thompson said this:

“This was an awesome season for Liberator Softball. We finished the year with an overall record of 21-7 (2-0 Ozark Independent Conference). We took 5th place in the Springfield Tournament (Orange Division) and 2nd place in the Branson Tournament. We were the Class 3 District 11 Champions and State Sectional Champions.”

On the topic of the team reaching quarterfinals, Coach Thompson continued:

[I was] very happy and excited for the team as well as being tremendously proud of what the girls had accomplished. The girls had worked very hard all year and that hard work paid off. I was very happy that they had the opportunity to experience playing in a game of this magnitude, on our home field, and in front of their classmates, families and the community. It was an electric atmosphere. Very exciting.”

While Lady Liberator softball loses seniors Carsyn Julien (right field, second batter) and Rachel Evans (third base) after this year, Coach Thompson feels the team has an excellent chance for the same level of success next season.
