Pride of the Liberators Goes to Valhalla

By Corey Siegfried

On October 5th, the Bolivar High School Pride of the Liberators made their way to the field to compete in their first field show of the season. The band worked on their show for over 4 months now. The band spent two weeks before school at Band Camp, starting at 8 in the morning and going to five in the afternoon. Since the school year started, the band has also had early band, starting at seven in the morning, every morning. The band has spent hours working on this show growing closer together and becoming a family.

“Well, it’s music, so when it comes to music, everyone has to be on the same page,” Bolivar High School student Caleb Webb said. “Everybody has to be playing together. And plus , [the band has] sections and we are all pretty much a family. We have to all be on the same page. We are like a family.”

The band performed to the best of their ability. Being the smallest band in their class, it was amazing how the band performed. The results are in, and the band got a total score of 58.15. The band made 4th place in their class but they worked their tail off to get there. While there were ups and downs, there were many memories made for everyone in the band.
